Hi, does anyone have any good ideas to stop our rabbit from jumping up on the sofa? He's a neutered male dwarf lop (approx 1.5 yrs) and is usually pretty well behaved. Recently he has started jumping up on the leather sofa in the family room and doing poo and wee!! He lives in the family room - his hutch, playpen, toys etc are there and we can't block the sofa off. He gets heaps of attention, supervised time outside in the back garden and a cardboard box castle to play in. I have tried putting him in his hutch for "time-out", saying "No!" loudly and clapping my hands and also putting sheets of cellophane on the lounge. He doesn't even care about the cellophane! Please help with any suggestions as this is driving me crazy!!

Sounds like you are doing the right things.... he probably just thinks he is boss of his territory and so doesn't figure that you are any threat at all!! lol You will just have to be firm and let him know that you are the boss bunny...

Thanks Jenny.  It's very hard to tell these little guys off because they're so darn cute!!  He hasn't tried to go on the sofa the last couple of days so hopefully he's got the message.

try a baby barrier to block off lounge to him,set up a special play area in lounge with plastic tarp underneath, use puppy pee pee pads to prevent soiling on lounge,by the way i have several plastic tarps, good carpet spot cleaner, vinegar, disposeable rubber gloves and a good, absorbent paper towel plus lint roller:)i have a f/t house bun who is very well loved and whilst i do get frustrated when im tired or busy i have found prevention is the best way to go. i have 3 litter trays seup for him, he knows where his food and water bowl are plus he has a snackie bowl on the mat in the kitchen. it's patience, prevention and love that seems to get best results:)

kind regards

best ways to get answers to questions is either to come to a rabbit show and ask or contact us via our facebook page , we committee members are all very busy people who dont always get onto the website and not to forget we are all volunteers :)
